Lee Stone, FFCP-Trainer, ABAP-1
Owner and Behaviour Consultant
Lee Stone is an Applied Behaviour Analysis Practitioner Level 1 (ABAP-1) and Fear Free Certified Professional Trainer with over 15 years of professional experience working with dogs and parrots.

Her path into behaviour began the way many great journeys do — with a challenging first dog. Keira, a Ridgeback mix, sparked Lee’s obsession with understanding why animals do what they do and, more importantly, how to help them thrive.

Lee spent five years with Urban Dog Training in Brisbane under the mentorship of respected behavioural trainers, building more than 2,000 hours of hands-on experience teaching puppy, adolescent, and adult classes, as well as supervising playgroups. In 2014, she launched her own dog training business, and in 2018 expanded into avian behaviour through consultancy work with Parrot Life Behaviour and Training.

Most recently, Lee travelled to Wales to complete her Scurry Dog Instructor training, becoming the first International Scurry Dog Instructor — a milestone that reflects both her commitment to professional development and her passion for enrichment-focused training.

Lee’s training philosophy is simple: teach animals what to do, not just what not to do. Her work is grounded in behavioural science, reinforcement-based methods, and a strong commitment to animal welfare, safety, and emotional wellbeing.

Known for her practical approach, clear communication, and ability to translate behavioural science into real-world solutions, Lee helps guardians build calmer homes, stronger relationships, and more confident companions.

At home, Lee shares life with her RSPCA adopted dog Eevee, a Spicy Amstaff mix who keeps her busy training and competing in Nosework, Mantrailing, and Scurry Dog. She also lives with four parrots — a daily reminder that behaviour, enrichment, and patience are universal across species.

Deeply passionate about animal welfare, Lee has volunteered as a wildlife carer raising kangaroo joeys, completed internship work at Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Centre, and worked as a Bird Keeper in a large zoo. She attends workshops, courses, conferences and other educational opportunities regularly, as well as being a Speaker at conferences and events.

For Lee, training isn’t just about behaviour — it’s about connection, trust, and giving animals and their humans the skills to succeed together.
