Service Description
Life skills for the dog you actually live with. Everyday Dog Lifeskills is a practical 6-week course designed to help you teach the behaviours that make daily life with your dog easier, safer and more enjoyable. Whether you have a young dog, a newly adopted dog or simply want to improve your dog's manners and reliability, this course focuses on the real-world skills most pet owners need. Rather than traditional obedience exercises, we focus on building behaviours that are useful in everyday life and creating a dog that can successfully navigate the human world. Inspired by the Everyday Dog elements of Scurry Dog, this course is suitable for all pet dogs and also provides an excellent foundation for current or future Scurry Dog teams. Throughout the course we will work on practical skills including: * Recall and emergency recall foundations * Loose lead walking and engagement * Stay and wait behaviours * Stop cues for safety * Place and mat training * Settling / taking a break (perfect for cafes!) * Building focus and connection * Real-life problem solvin Small class sizes allow plenty of individual coaching and ensure both dogs and handlers can work at a pace that suits them. Suitable For * Adolescent and adult dogs * Newly adopted dogs * Owners wanting practical life skills * Previous Animal Haus clients wanting ongoing support * Current or future Scurry Dog teams looking to strengthen foundation skills No prior training or experience is required. This class is suitable for all dogs. Group suitability: This is a small group course (maximum 6 dogs). Dogs must be able to work on lead around other dogs, take food or toys in a shared training space, and recover from excitement with guidance. If you’re unsure whether this environment is right for your dog, please get in touch before booking. Course Details. Duration: 6 weeks Group size: Max 6 dogs Time: 60 - 75 minutes Investment: $285 per dog *$150 deposit to book, remainder due 48 hours before start date.* Location: Private Field, Tamborine (4270, 5 Minutes from Yarrabilba) Places are limited. If you cannot make a service you have booked you should notify us in writing as soon as possible on hello@animalhausbehaviour.com.au Cancellation: • More than 3 days notice - you will receive a refund minus payment processing fees. • More than 72 hours notice - you will receive a refund minus $70 administration fees unless a replacement attendee can be found. • Less than 72 hours - no refund is available unless the place in class/workshop can be filled by another paying attendee. If no replacement attendee can be found then your full fees will be non-refundable. Rescheduling / Transfers: Rescheduling or transferring into another service is dependent on available services and entirely at our discretion. Transfers are not available less than 72 hours before the commencement of your service. Reactive Dogs: Please note that unless otherwise stated in the service information, classes and workshops are group sessions. This means that other dogs will be visible throughout the session. If your dog is anxious / nervous or reactive to other dogs or people this may not be suitable for them. Please contact us to discuss alternatives though has we love working with Spicy Dogs and will happily help you find an alternative option! hello@animalhausbehaviour.com.au Dogs + Handlers: Each dog attending will need their own individual handler.
